Admissions

Dale Hall Community Primary School is an inclusive school that welcomes pupils from all backgrounds and of all abilities.

As an academy, the trust board determines the admissions arrangements for the school. Currently, it adopts the policies of Suffolk Local Authority.

Staff work with parents to ensure pupils with any disabilities have a smooth start to their education at Dale Hall Community Primary School. Children are admitted into school in the September following their fourth birthday. Each school has a Planned Admission Number (PAN).

Our admission number is 60 pupils in each year group from Reception upwards. The Local Authority and school make every effort not to exceed this class allocation size.  There may be occasions following appeal when this number is exceeded but only in exceptional circumstances.

Admission to Reception

Admission information and forms for the academic year in which a child will join Reception are available to parents during the late Autumn Term and are required to be returned direct to Suffolk County Council by the nationally set date.  Children are able to start Reception at the beginning of the school year in which they have their fifth birthday.  Parents can elect to defer entry until January or April and also to take up the place on a full time or part time basis.  We invite parents to a meeting with Reception teachers and members of our school community prior to admission.  Children also have opportunities to visit school and meet their teacher and to before they start Reception.

Admission to other Year Groups

For admission to the school in other year groups parents need to request ADM1 Admission form.  Once completed this form should be returned to the school.
