Power of reading
This half term our topic for Year 2 is 'Wild adventures and magical places'. We will be immersing ourselves in our Power of Reading text 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak.
Home Learning expectations:
In Year 2 our Home Learning expectations are:
- Reading at least 3 times a week for 10 mins.
- Numbots at least 3 times a week for 10 mins.
- Spelling Shed at least 2 times a week for 10 minutes.

Hello, I am Mrs Cattermole and I am class teacher for Whales class.
I have been teaching for 19 years and taught from EYFS through to year 5. I really enjoy developing and nurturing children's ideas/interests and supporting children to become independent learners. I love nature and particularly enjoy cycling and setting off on new challenges.

Hi everyone! This is my 7th year at Dale Hall and I'm looking forward to teaching in Year 2 this year having previously taught in Year 1 and 3.
I have a passion for English and Music and can't wait to bring this to the classroom. My main aim is to create a joyful and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, safe and excited to learn.
