Early Help for Parents

Ms Clair Utting

Family Liaison Officer and Thrive lead

I would like to introduce myself. I am the Family Liaison Officer for parents, carers and families of children at Dale Hall Primary Community School.  I am also a qualified Licensed Thrive Practitioner and I lead Thrive across the school.

As a Mum of a young person who has recently moved onto high school and an adult who has special needs, I know only too well how precious your child is and the challenges you may face as a family as they progress through their educational journey.  When these challenges arise we may need a helping hand, or a friendly ear, and I am very passionate about ensuring that members of our community receive the support they may need.

One of the main roles I have as a FLO is to build a positive and open communication between home and school, with the aim of enabling pupils to achieve their full potential.

I am available to offer practical help and support to parents and carers in matters concerning your child’s education, development and well being.  I work in partnership with you, your child, the teachers, SENDCo and senior leadership team to create an environment where the needs of the child are at the heart of all we do. I can be contacted on Class Dojo with regards to any concerns you may have and I can meet you on a 1:1 basis in school or have a chat over the telephone, where I can provide information and guidance on a range of issues, as well as offering a safe space where you can feel free to talk without judgement.

I am available from 8.45 am until 3.30 pm Monday through to Friday. I am also on the KS2 playground first thing most mornings.. Please feel free to contact me for a chat if you have any worries or concerns – no matter how small!

Effective early help relies upon us all working together, providing local support as soon as a problem arises at any point in a child’s life, from early years through to the teenage years and into early adulthood.  Don't wait until it feel you are at crisis point as there is plenty of help out there if you are struggling. Feel free to give us a call or pop in and see us if you need some help, support or advice about your child. We have a wealth of experience and can offer a safe place to talk.

Contact the school office if you think you would like to meet and we can arrange an appointment.
