In September of each year there is a Parents' Information Meeting. This is an opportunity for parents to meet their child's new teacher and hear about the work the children will be doing as well as a chance for the teacher to pass on any information to parents.
Our topic for Summer 2 is...
The World Cup.
Owls and Kestrels have been combining the excitement of the World Cup with our Geography lessons, and have been looking at some of the competing nations. Moreover, we have used our Music lessons to check out some of the famous World Cup anthems.
We have been working hard in English by looking at The Great Kapok Tree which is an exciting story based deforestation; this has been provoking some great discussions. In Art, we have been looking at Henri Rousseau.
On your marks, get set, go! We are doing Athletics for our Tuesday and Friday P.E lessons. Looking at the principles of Sprinting, Middle Distance, Jumping and Throwing.
As part of our Roman topic, Year 3 visited the famous Colchester Castle. The day involved looking around the museum and the underground dungeons. We also had a go at making a Roman Villa.
"My favourite part was the dungeons" - Emil, Owls
"I'd recommend Colchester Castle because it was so much fun" - Honey, Owls
"Did you know that Boudicca was a Celt who destroyed Colchester?" Josh- Owls
