Active citizens

Our pupils consistently demonstrate just how much they care about the local community and wider issues.
Four of our year 6 pupils recently came up with idea to raise money for a 'Sea Bin'. During Eco week they discovered a machine that can be placed in the sea which sucks in plastic bags and bottles and tiny plastic fragments as small as 2mm.

Thinking this was such a great idea they decided to raise money to buy one for Ipswich waterfront.

Their first fundraising idea was a cake sale which raised £100! They made and cooked their own cakes and offered refreshments after school one evening. Not content with this they plan to write to local companies, famous people and Newsround to gain support for their campaign.

Some of our brilliant year 4 children wanted to continue to raise money for Hayley and childhood cancer by making bracelets. They have been working so hard to produce the bracelets and sold these at lunchtime.
They will continue to sell these for 50p for one and £1 for three so if you would like a lovely bracelet then bring in your money to help this fantastic cause.
