Welcome to our school

Welcome to Dale Hall Community Primary School.  It is a real privilege to be Head Teacher of such a vibrant and exciting school. Our school thrives on a culture of high expectations where everyone is committed to making a real difference. We aim to give our children the very best possible start to their education, developing personal aspiration and a lifelong love of learning. Our inspirational and talented staff team are committed to every child achieving their potential so we place a huge importance on supporting the 'whole' child. We have worked hard in the last few years to build an exciting and immersive curriculum which fully engages and involves the children in the process of learning. We encourage our children to reflect, relish challenges, and embrace their mistakes as part of the learning process.

As  part of the wider curriculum we are currently designing and building our own Forest School and outdoor classroom, with a focus on sustainability as well as continuing to grow our own food in the kitchen garden. We encourage our children to think about the wider community, environmental impact (See our ECO warriors page) and support many local and national charities.

All our classrooms have a well being corner, we run mindfullness and philosophy sessions to encourage self reflection and have three fully trained Thrive practitioners. Being active is very important to us so we run a variety of clubs such as Dance, Netball, Tag Rugby, Football, multi-sports, archery and cross country (to name a few) and have retained the Sports GOLD mark for three years in a row.

We also run a variety of other clubs during and after the school day such as cartoon, ukulele, recorder, choir, gardening, photography as well as our year 6 children running their own at lunchtimes for the other pupils.

We are very proud of Dale Hall and are always happy to show prospective pupils, parents and staff around our school so if you would like further information please contact us or continue to browse our website.

Mrs J Dedicoat

Headteacher

This term work has begun on our Forest School area. This has started with the building of our outdoor classroom designed and made by 'earthmovedesign' which has been made out of sustainable, reclaimed and natural materials, including a 'live roof'. We have also planned solar powered lighting, compost area, fire pit and kitchen garden where we can grow, harvest and cook our own food. Mrs Critchley and Mrs Eldred have also completed forest school level 3 training and will be starting their groups in September. The funding has come from the 'essential life skills' programme as part of the Ipswich Opportunity Area grant.

Our children say...

"One of  the many reasons why I enjoy attending this school every day is because I wake up and know that I will enjoy the great day ahead of me.There are some people like me in this school that might not be your everyday child because they are special in their own way, some more noticeable than others but that doesn't stop us. From the help of our willing staff, people like me can enjoy the day as much as others."
